How to Pray the Rosary in the Spirit of Our Lady of Medjugorje – Episode 3
On this page

Introduction

How to Pray the Rosary is our next story that we will talk about in the new episode about Medjugorje! All believers want to bathe the Mother of God properly, as faith dictates, and we decided to dedicate an entire episode about Medjugorje to this very topic so that all pilgrims who decide on the Medjugorje pilgrimage, be ready!

There are guidelines to follow when it comes to praying the rosary, but what is most important is sincerity while praying. This means that the Mother of God will recognize your prayer even if you do not pray according to all the guidelines if your prayer is sincere and comes from the heart!

As Our Lady of Medjugorje told the Medjugorje visionaries: “Dear children! Today, as never before, I invite you to pray. So, let your prayer be a prayer for peace.”

Our Lady of Medjugorje – Calls to Prayer

Back in 1981, on June 24th, Our Lady of Medjugorje chose six visionaries from Medjugorje. Therefore, these are Vicka Ivanković, Mirjana Dragićević, Ivan Dragićević, Ivanka Ivanković, Jakov Čolo, and Marija Pavlović, who regularly receive messages of peace.

So, six Medjugorje visionaries all these years faithfully convey messages from Our Lady of Medjugorje to all believers. All those messages are messages that call for peace, fasting, conversion, and, of course, prayer.

Below you can see when and how Our Lady of Medjugorje called the faithful to prayer:

August 14, 1984

I would like the people to pray with me in these days. And as much as possible! And to fast strictly on Wednesdays and Fridays; to pray every day at least the Rosary: the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries.

September 27, 1984

I ask the families of the parish to pray the family Rosary.

June 25, 1985

In reply to Marija Pavlovic’s question: “Our Lady, what do you wish to say to the priests?” Our Lady said:

“I ask you to ask everyone to pray the Rosary. With the Rosary you will overcome all the difficulties that Satan now wants to cause for the Catholic Church! All of you, priests, pray the Rosary! Give time to the Rosary!”

August 8, 1985

Dear children! Today I ask you especially now to advance against Satan by means of prayer. Satan wants to work more now that you know he is at work. Dear children, put on the equipment for battle and overcome him with the Rosary in your hand! Thank you for having responded to my call.

June 12, 1986

Today I ask you to begin to pray the Rosary with living faith. That way I will be able to help you. You, dear children, wish to receive graces, but you do not pray. I cannot help you because you do not wish to act. Dear children, I ask you to pray the Rosary. May the Rosary be a commitment for you to carry out with joy. That way you will understand why I have been with you for such a long time. I wish to teach you to pray. Thank you for having responded to my call.

February 25, 1988

Let the Rosary always be in your hands as a sign to Satan that you belong to me.

January 25, 1991

Dear children! Today, as never before, I invite you to prayer. Let your prayer be a prayer for peace. Satan is strong and wants to destroy not only human life but also nature and the planet you live on. Therefore, dear children, pray to protect yourselves through prayer with God’s blessing of peace. God has sent me among you so that I may help you. If you want, accept the Rosary! Even the Rosary alone can work miracles in the world and your lives. I bless you and will remain with you as long as God wants. I thank you because you will not betray my presence here. Thank you because your response serves good and peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.

August 25, 1997

I ask all the priests and religious brothers and sisters to pray the Rosary and to teach others to pray. The Rosary, little children, is particularly dear to me. Through the Rosary open your heart to me and I can help you.

April 25, 2001

Dear children! Also today I invite you to prayer. Little children, prayer works miracles. When you are tired and sick and you do not know the meaning of your life, take the Rosary and pray, pray until prayer becomes for you a joyful meeting with your Savior. I am with you, little children, and I intercede and pray for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.

How to Pray the Rosary

How to pray the Rosary is a question that you must find the answer to before you go on an unforgettable Medjugorje pilgrimage. Before saying the prayers, you need to find the Medjugorje Rosary of Peace recommended by the Virgin Mary for her apparitions.

medjugorje

The Medjugorje Rosary of Peace consists of 24 beads, symbolizing the miraculous visions of Our Lady. Therefore, each segment consists of a single bead and a group of three beads. Each bead represents one of the visions of Our Lady, while groups of three beads symbolize larger and deeper spiritual experiences that resulted from the encounter between Our Lady of Medjugorje and Medjugorje visionaries.

How to Pray the Rosary – Steps

  1. Make the Sign of the Cross using the Crucifix
  2. Pray the Apostles’ Creed
  3. Pray the Our Father on all the large beads
  4. Pray 3 Hail Mary
  5. Pray the Glory Be
  6. Meditate on one of the Mysteries of the Rosary, pray the Our Father on the large bead
  7. Pray 10 Hail Marys on each of the small beads
  8. Pray the Glory Be
  9. Pray the Fatima prayer
  10. Continue with each Mysteries of the Rosary (steps 6 to 9)
  11. End the Rosary with the Hail Holy Queen

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; on the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

The Our Father

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, a world without end. Amen.

Fatima Prayer

O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, take all souls to Heaven, and help especially those most in need of Your mercy.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail! Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement! O loving! Sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer after the Rosary:

Also, there is a prayer after the Rosary.

O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that, meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

So, as we said at the beginning of our episode on How to Pray the Rosary, it is important that your prayer be sincere and from the depths of the soul. On the other hand, an insincere prayer, a prayer in which you do not believe yourself, cannot be successful. Also, the prayer must be benevolent, calling for peace, health, and salvation for you, your loved ones, and the whole world. That is all that Our Lady of Medjugorje asks of her believers!

Previously, we presented you with How to Pray the Rosary in a longer way. Therefore, there is a shorter version of the prayer that is also
