Route to the summit: The ascent to Bobotov Kuk typically starts from the village of Žabljak, which is the main entrance to the park. There, you’ll encounter hospitable locals whom you can ask for more details and stories about Durmitor and this trail. The route takes hikers through diverse landscapes, from dense forests to rocky terrain. The path to the summit is marked, but do not embark on this journey if you’re not in good physical condition and lack hiking experience.

Views from the top: However, when you exert yourself and reach the top of Bobotov Kuk, the reward is unforgettable. The view from the summit provides a panoramic outlook of the entire Durmitor National Park, including numerous mountain peaks, valleys, and lakes. When the weather is clear, it’s even possible to see the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which border Montenegro.

Little tips for hiking in Durmitor
