On the way out of Sarajevo, the route passes through the Kiseljak area, known for its mineral-water tradition, before continuing to Fojnica. The pace stays flexible here—this is the “settle in” part of the day before the mountains.

Visit the Franciscan Monastery in Fojnica, a long-standing religious and cultural landmark with a respected library and historical collections. Your guide will share the site’s background and why it remains one of the region’s key heritage stops.
Prokoško Lake and the Mountain Village Setting
The final stretch climbs toward Prokoško Lake, set high on Vranica Mountain with wooden shepherd huts scattered around the shoreline. The access road can be rugged, but the reward is a quiet alpine atmosphere—time for photos, a simple lakeside walk, and (if you choose) a local-style lunch prepared by families in the area (optional). An ATV ride can be arranged on request for those who want more range around the lake (optional).
