Dive into the thrill of Montenegro's wilderness with our "Tara River Rafting Adventure." This journey combines heart-pounding whitewater rafting with the serene beauty of Montenegro's landscapes. Experience the best of both worlds: the adrenaline rush of conquering the Tara River rapids and the peace of its tranquil stretches.
This Tour is more than just a rafting trip; it's a journey through the heart of Montenegro's natural splendor and a celebration of its rich cultural landscape. Join us for an adventure that encapsulates the spirit of Montenegro.
Our first brief stop is in the charming baroque town of Perast. Capture the beauty of the two famous islands, Our Lady of the Rocks and St. George, in a perfect photo session.
As we ascend, the views of Risan Bay become increasingly spectacular, prompting another photo opportunity of the sun rising over this majestic panorama.
Leaving the Bay of Kotor, we traverse ranges of impressive peaks and pass by the Salt Lake near Nikšić, Montenegro’s second-largest city.
Marvel at the vastness of Piva Lake, the largest artificial lake in the Balkans. We’ll stop at the 220-meter high dam for stunning views of the turquoise waters and the narrow river discharge.
Journey through the dramatic Piva River Canyon, a breathtaking passage with 56 hand-made tunnels harmoniously blending with the natural landscape. Notice the ancient Black Pines growing straight from the rock.
Reach our ultimate destination – the Tara River. Enjoy a traditional Montenegrin breakfast at a riverside restaurant, with views extending into Bosnia.
After breakfast, get fully outfitted for the river adventure, needing only your swimsuit underneath the provided gear. Experience the pristine beauty of the Tara, Europe’s deepest canyon and a natural wonder of Montenegro. Navigate 18 km with 21 rapids, enjoy stops for jumping and swimming, and savor an ‘ice shower’ at Skakavica waterfall.
Upon returning to base camp, change into dry clothes and relish a traditional Montenegrin lunch, celebrating the day’s adventure.
Conclude the tour with a drive back to Kotor, aiming to arrive around 7:30 pm, keeping in mind potential traffic and site delays.
